Markings: There is HR6017 and HR6016.

It's a SHIFTER for an automotive transmission with external rods like Muncie, Borg-Warner, or Saginaw. The two small bolts close together is where the shift lever bolts on, a method begun by the Hurst company, who probably made that shifter. The number of arms coming out the bottom indicates it's a 5-speed.
