Opinions

1)

These appear to be round wire die springs made to pop open a stamping die of molding die. These come in different lengths and diameters according to application and material being formed. Most are color coded for spring pressure. Yours appear to be 12" x 2-1/4" wound with 3/8" spring wire. Since these are rather large they are probably for a metal stamping machine. The ones shown in the URL are 12" x 1-1/2" and are wound with 1/4" spring wire. The maker of yours is unknown.

No score penalization for this one.

After more research I have come to the conclusion these are actually down pressure springs for an agricultural cultivator or planter. These are shown in a farm implement store on-line but the URL is not available unless you are a member or customer. These show up on Google and Duck Duck Go as down pressure springs for a Case or International Harvester planter. The part numbers are SH591546 (Shoup Tractor part number) or 591546R2 (Case IH part number). They also fit a Wil-Rich harrow, part number 11510.
