The male thread would need to be identified so the proper filter could be installed any parts house or good hardware store should e able to help with that. These were popularized for the VW air cooled engines, they came from the factory with no filter, just a screen to catch the big chunks. It can be used on any thing that the oil system can be accessed via a plug or oil pressure sender, remote cooler line etc. It could also be used as a transmission fluid filter.
