its an ''electric exhaust cutout'' what its used for is its placed on the exhaust of a car when you want the power and noise of an unrestricted exhaust a switch would be flipped opening it and letting the exhaust exit that way instead of through the muffler. what it goes to is any exhaust with a 3 bolt flange on the header common on many older v8 muscle cars ,its not for any one specific car. as for who manufactures it there's so many company's that sell them the only thing you can know for sure is its not one of the major brands do to the lack of advertising and/or part numbers on it. the reference link should give you the idea.

I'd Like to Know:

I would like to know what this is exactly, what it is used for, what it goes to and who manufactures it. A tall order I know, but if you could help me figure out what it is that'd be great. Thanks.

Item History: N/A.

Size: It is approximately 6" in length, the shaft is 2-1/2" OD and is 2-3/8" ID.

Markings: R with a 9 or 6 and the sticker that says 'Welding on cutout voids warranty'.
