The solid plate is a steel or spacer plate that is sandwiched between the friction plates. This is the older harley davidson style that fit the older sportsters( iron head) up to 1970. The new style have expansion slots stamped into them unless you buy the thicker.089" plates. These were very popular plates for the racing guys. The clutch or friction plate on the right I don't know. I haven't seen any harley friction with outside splines.
