Quite possibly a kinemetrics recorder. No way to know for sure unless it's cracked open ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ... 4-pin socket for power, bnc for gps, giant multi-pin for sensor input maybe... one link is a screenshot because the image source page is no longer available...

I'd Like to Know:
I believe this is a rack-mounted power supply for radio broadcasting or communication gear. Please find a similar item from the same time period to reference.
Opinions
its a military radio amplifier

I'm not sure it's an amp due to the lack of controls. It could be a vintage rack-mount power supply for broadcasting or HAM gear. If you can find something more in line with this particular item... something from the period, preferably. Thanks for contributing!
Here is a reference that may help. Judging by the ripped off sticker I'd say its a band sticker but likely not the sticker for the product? It could be a Military Radio AMP power supply. Even if you reject this opinion I think the reference to the site might at least get you in the field surrounding the origin of this device.

By: prokrypt Submitted on: 12/02/2023 at 04:46AMwhups, i meant to say "something like a kinemetrics recorder" as kinemetrics is a company. attached ebay link is of another "strong motion recorder" (also happens to be made by kinemetrics!) with photos of the innards. you can see the empty spot where the battery goes.
